Independent authors have a number of challenges. Among the biggest is getting the needed exposure to let readers know of their work. Last week, The Phoenix Forum Discussion Group hosted its first event of 2014, the Independent Author Symposium. The Panelists were Rose Nurse, Stanley Fritz, and Taneeka Wilder. Representing three distinct genres of writing, the panel moderated by blogger Marc Polite spoke with an interested audience about the process of writing their books.
During the course of the hour and a half discussion, each author provided a window into their creative process, and what drove them to write their book. The audience asked great questions, prompting an informative discussion on matters from the nature of the publishing industry, to the realities of having to compete in such a crowded market.
The Phoenix Forum Discussion Group hosts events that serve the community via information, and is grateful that we were able to draw such an interest from those who attended last Thursday.
