“I Will Follow” is the next film that you should look out for. Starring Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Omari Hardwick, it is the story of Maye, who is dealing with the recent loss of a family member. It is the first release of the African-American Film Festival Releasing Movement, a new association of Black film companies. Directed by Ava DuVernay, the film also is about the people that help you move on.
I attended a packed screening at Columbia University this past Friday. This event was sponsored by the Columbia Graduate School Film program, ImageNation, which is now part of AFFRM, and UrbanWorld.
“I Will Follow” will open in 5 cities beginning Friday, March 11th. To learn more about the film, go to The Official Web-Site
I’m always clicking on random Twitter links and forget the source of half of the things I click. This is how I found myself on Polite on Society watching the preview of “I Will Follow” and glancing at the list of recent posts thinking “this looks like a cool blog, I wonder whose it is?” Beat. “Wait a second, this is Marc’s blog!” Talk about a blond moment…
LOL! Hey, it’s all good. It don’t matter how you got here, as long as you got here. Glad you think my blog is cool. Thanks Denice!
