Good afternoon, everyone. Yet another philosophical question for you this week. Is it possible to be an objective judge of your own character?
It’s important to know yourself as a human being, many would say. Is it really possible to accurately judge things like your moral compass. Just a thought to share.
I do believe it is possible to be objective about who you are as a person, but that would require softening the Ego. When Ego leads the way, it could definitely set up defenses, and biases to prevent ourselves from seeing who we are from an unbiased perspective. I believe this is why relationships with other people are important. They can often see things in us we cannot, or refuse to take ownership/accountability of.
This is a good point, Taneeka. Softening the ego is important.
