Directed by journalist turned filmmaker, Camila Hall, Copwatch follows WeCopwatch, an organization dedicated to filming the police and capturing excessive use of force and police brutality, including members who filmed the deaths of Eric Garner and Freddie Gray. The film turns the camera on those who stood behind the lens and how their lives and those of their family have been impacted as they made the choice to “record and protect.”
