Good morning all. Yesterday, I attended the ABENY Conference 2016. The Association of Black Educators of New York is an organization about educational empowerment. Founded in 1968, ABENY holds not only a yearly conference, but workshops and events about Black History. This was my first time attending, and I was there as one of many books vendors.
Dr. Alphonso Wyatt gave a rousing keynote speech with the theme of “all hands on deck” in response to the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of these United States. He said that this was a moment where we have to use this threat as an opportunity to really work together for the betterment of our community. This was something we all needed to hear.
Among the other authors present were Jacqueline Pitts and Kahlil Koromantee.
