1 Year After Canibus-Dizaster Battle; Both Slip Back Into Obscurity

For hip hop heads, exactly a year ago today was a fateful day for the culture. June 9th, 2012 was the date of the Canibus vs. Dizaster battle, and it ended in a way that no one would have expected. For anyone who wants a recap, here ya go.

As for the aftermath of the battle on both emcees, after a year of time passing, I have yet to see anything emerge from Canibus. The Jersey based rapper who was reportedly working on Rip the Jacker 2, the sequel to the 2003 CD, has rarely been heard from since. Back in November, the emcee mentioned that this project would be his last album. Since then, there have been no updates.

As for Dizaster, he has gone on to battle other folks on the circuit, but none as prominent as Germaine Williams. There is no talk of a Dizaster album on the horizon. The battle was hype, and had hip hop heads cracking jokes for months. But for both emcees involved, things have shaken out as if it was a distant memory. Hip hop heads, why do you think that is?
