Good morning, my readers. Today is July 1st. Can you all believe that 2026 is half over? Hard to believe, but it is true. Well, the purpose of this post may be obvious, but I still want to point it out. A year ago, I debuted my first children’s book. Stand On Ganymede came out in July of 2025, and got a good reception.
In breaking away from my release patterns as an author and a writer, it has been nice to branch out a bit. For years, it was poems, essays, editorials.. then more editorials, poems, and essays. How many scathing editorials can a man write? Aside from wanting to mix it up, it was fun getting the chance to tell a science fiction-based story. For those of y’all that may not know, I am into sci-fi, and it is my favorite genre.
Not waiting for “permission” to do something different, I just decided to do it. One year later, this different venture has yielded some openings. Whether it was an appearance at a children’s book fair, a guest stop on a science podcast, or my book appearing in the library, it has been a wonderful journey so far. To those of you who have supported this latest work of mine, I thank you immensely.
I also wanted to announce a slight price decrease. You can now purchase Stand on Ganymede on Amazon for $15.00. It launched at 20 bucks last year, because of the jump in printing costs due to the orange overlord and his tariffs. Unlike these greedy gaming corporations that raise prices for consoles, I actually want more people to have access to the book. Literacy activism is about fostering access, and that is part of what I am about. We have to encourage the youth to conceptualize better times.
It is my small way of saying thanks. Take care, and until next post, peace!
