Will 100 Dollar Games Be The Norm Next Console Generation?

Good evening, my readers. I have one more post to share today. If you happen to be a gamer, then you may have heard about a new Nintendo console. The Switch 2, will be coming out in June, and the price will be around 450 dollars. This news didn’t necessarily go over well on gaming channels all across social media. That’s not even the worst news.

Apparently, the digital games for the Switch 2 will cost 80 dollars, while the physical copies will be 90 bucks. You read that right. When you factor in sales tax, a brand new game will run you pretty much 100 bucks.

Also, the next Grand Theft Auto game, GTA6 is said to be priced somewhere in the 100 dollar range. Will this become the new normal for the next generation of gaming consoles?

If this is the future of gaming, then I don’t want it. This is yet another example of greed ruining gaming for the fanbase. The big three gaming companies want us to pay 500-800 dollars for consoles, and are floating the idea of 100 dollar Triple AAA title games. I know that it is unlikely to happen, but gamers should let 100 dollar games flop just to teach these greedy companies a lesson. As long as we collectively buy the games, they know that they can get away with it, and other game publishers will follow suit.

If this is what we get to look forward to then some of us will either get gaming PCs and keep it moving, or just get heavy into retro gaming and forgo the next generation of consoles altogether.
