Good evening, everyone. This past Friday, I went to the I Love to Read Book and Literacy Festival in Rahway, NJ. Held at Rahway River Park, this yearly event brings together authors and readers. This was my first time attending.
Founded by Karla Alvarez, this festival encourages reading as a past time. Attendees were able to have their pick of a free book from the outdoor bookcases set up for the event.
I met two authors there: Theara Washington and Clarise Annette Brooks.
Me being me, I decided to go with Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower as my free book choice. Unfortunately, considering all of the latest Supreme Court decisions, it’s an appropriate choice. Just saying..
While stopping through Rahway, I noticed a statue of early 20th century scientist Nikola Tesla.
I snapped this picture just because. It’s an image I find beautiful.
All in all, it was a cool event.
