Polite On Society 15th Anniversary

Polite On Society 15 Years

By Marc W. Polite

Greetings, my readers. I finally have a bit of time to sit down and write a few things that have been swirling around in my mind.

I’m taking this time to remind my legacy readers and inform my new ones that Polite On Society will make its 15th anniversary on May 17th, 2024. I don’t have anything planned, but I just want to acknowledge that day. I’ll likely be too busy to write something about it on the actual day of, which is why I’m releasing this on a Saturday morning.

I’d like to take some time in this post to talk about the slightly different direction you may have noticed this site going in the past few years. While this site began as an explicitly social commentary page, it has evolved into much more. Through guest posts and other contributing writers, the site discusses technology, business, the sciences, and how to suggestions for self improvement.

As much as I’d like to, I realize that I can’t write everything. There are topics that I don’t necessarily have the bandwidth to touch on, so a guest article would better serve those who want to learn about the issue. In addition, on a more practical note, it gives me some flexibility in working on my behind the scenes projects. I’m currently wrestling with the mid-point of a manuscript, and lining up appearances for my current books for this summer and Fall.

Also, a great deal has changed in my personal life over the past 15 years. Discussing the same subjects in the same way that you discussed them a decade and a half ago is not exactly the definition of growth and development.  Navigating through life forces you to pivot at times. If I am uninspired to write it, then why should you be inspired to read it? Just saying.

This post is my way of letting you know that the captain has not abandoned the ship. Yes, another naval reference. Because why not? Lol.

Anyway, I want to also take the time to say thanks to my long time readers, and the new ones as well. Whether you’re here in the States, the United Kingdom, or Canada, thanks for reading.

Much thanks to my contributing writers Amber Ramsey, and Brittany Cotton. Thanks to my media collaborators Valerie Denise Jones, Doni Glover, Cass Murray and Desiree Lee-Benson Brockington.

Thank you, take care, and enjoy your Saturday. Peace!
