Greetings everyone! Welcome to the first Writer Wednesday of 2022. This week, we hear from Yvette Gagnon. She is the author of “Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Light”, and “Quber Wisdom”
Polite On Society: For my readers who are not familiar, tell us about yourself. Who is Yvette Gagnon?
Yvette Gagnon: I’m a work in progress. Constantly learning and growing. I am driven to share with others the lessons I’ve learned through my experiences. Writing these experiences helps reach a larger audience than driving for rideshare. I’m adventurous, I love the outdoors. I have jumped out of a plane, flown planes, and can also spend the day fishing and be totally chill whether I catch a fish or not. I’m a hard worker, yet make time for my family and friends as well as anyone in need.
POS: Can you tell our readers a little bit about your book “Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Light?”
YG: Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Light is about some challenges I faced growing up. It talks about head injuries I’ve suffered, Suicide, and growing up in a violent home.
POS: What motivates you to share your stories as an author?
YG: I want to show hurting people that even though I went through a lot of rough times I can still smile. I feel it is important to share experiences so that others see that there is hope when it may seem like there is none.
POS: Your latest book is “Quber Wisdom” Talk to us a bit about the reason behind the name.
YG: I was looking up words that had similar meanings to one of the rideshare companies and found the word Quber. One of the definitions for Quber said it enhances the word that follows it. I thought, who couldn’t use an enhancement of wisdom?
POS: If there is one lesson that you would want people to take away from reading this book, what would you want it to be?
YG: There are many lessons I’d like both drivers and riders to take away from this book. If I have to choose just one, it would be please verify the driver’s license plate before getting into the car.
