The moderates have spoken. In the aftermath of Joe Biden’s resounding win in South Carolina, moderate Democrats Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar have dropped out of the 2020 presidential race. They have done so, with the explicit purpose of bolstering Joe Biden’s previously lackluster campaign. After losing the first three states to Bernie Sanders, there was a question as to whether or not Biden could ever catch up.
Now as the moderate Democrats coalesce around Biden, and Warren stays in deliberately to blunt Sanders momentum, the game plan is obvious. A day before Super Tuesday, the goal is to facilitate a Biden “comeback” – getting him to be the hopeful Democratic nominee.
Tomorrow, will be a very interesting day politically for the country. We have on one hand, a populist surge, and the other, a coalescing of the centrists Democrats, backed by the party and the mainstream media.
All of the moderates running for president are falling on their swords for the sake of helping Joe Biden. There are still 4 people in the race (Warren and Bloomberg) – but ultimately this is going to be Sanders vs. Biden.
Will this concerted effort to stop Bernie Sanders be successful? We shall see, tomorrow.
