Good morning, my readers. It is Friday, so I am keeping it light. The headline of this post may make hip-hop heads of a certain age do a double take, but its actually happened. Wyclef Jean released a song on his Youtube page yesterday titled “Letter to Canibus.” What sounds like it could be a potential diss track ends up to be a collaboration as Wyclef poses questions about Canibus and his career missteps, and Bis comes through with rhymed answers. Featuring Phern, this track is a surprise. Canibus and Wyclef famously fell out after the under-performance of his first album almost 20 years ago. It is interesting to see them working together again.
This is wild. Will this mean more music from Clef and Bis? We shall see.
Between Noreaga’s recent album, Mya releasing videos, and Canibus and Wyclef collaborating, I had to check to calendar and make sure its 2018, not 1998.
