Greetings my readers. This year, I attended the New York City Poetry Festival on Governors Island for the first time. It was a beautiful day, and I had the opportunity to read my work to a new audience. Despite the fact that it was a mission and a half to get out there, I made it anyway. New Yorkers know how bad the MTA is during the weekends.
While I was there, I set up a table with my books, and ran into a few familiar authors. Shout out to Damien Tillman, Keisha Molby-Baez, and Kurt Boone. I also read two poems from my collection, as part of the Underground Books Open Mic hosted by James Kepple.
Readers should know that Underground Books will be hosting another Jackie Robinson Poetry Day on Saturday, September 15th. Keep that date in mind.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello. Until next book event, I’ll see y’all around. Peace.
