Summer Break, a show of two and three-dimensional mixed media artworks, poetry, and spoken word opens at JCC Harlem on Tuesday, June 12. Summer Break begs us not to forget, as we approach the summer holiday, what it means to be a student in America in 2018. Through installation, interactive works, 2D artworks and performance, this exhibition examines issues that have broken the essence of effective, nurturing education. Seven visual artists and a dozen spoken word artists present a variety of perspectives, some pulling from their days as young students and others as educators in the current environment.
