Good evening my readers. In news that is astounding to New Yorkers, it circulated today that the Village Voice will cease to have a printed newspaper. While they will continue to publish online, this news comes as a surprising blow.
There won’t be any more looking for that iconic red newspaper box on the corner of the street. When you wanted a different perspective, or to read a music review from people that actually knew what they were talking about, the Voice was there.
They had some of the best hip hop articles, ever. Unfortunately, in a struggling publishing business, name and legacy isn’t enough to survive these times.
Reading a newspaper is a lost art, but in this digital world, folks aren’t interested. Such is progress.
