Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney made clear his explicit anti-working class sentiments. Commenting favorably on the results of the Wisconsin election, Romney stated that cutbacks are needed and that President Obama did not “get the message.” He went on to say that there is no need to hire anymore firefighters, police officers, or teachers. If anyone wonders what a Romney presidency will make a priority, the answer is directly from his own mouth.
With unemployment not improving so much, one would think that the jobs that are around should be protected. Such counter-intuitive views are relatively unchallenged, and as things become worse for working people, the push from ideologues for austerity continues. So much for having the outlook of a “job creator”
