Film Screening: “MOOZ-lum”

Black History Month begins today, and this week kicks off with a timely  screening in just two days. ImageNation presents the film “MOOZ-lum” directed by Qasim Basir at Lincoln Center on February 3rd. This movie tells the story of Tariq Mahdi, a young Black Muslim who grapples with issues of identity as a person of Islamic faith and an American.

This film is scheduled to debut nationwide on February 11th. You can see the trailer to the film below. The film will be followed by a panel discussion titled: “Islam and the Black Experience” In light of all the recent upheavals in Egypt and Tunisia, this promises to be an interesting event.
