Who doesn’t love a good irony? Whether it is Dramatic Irony, Verbal Irony, Situational Irony, something that is from a book or something from TV, the result is always the same – it is the opposite of what one might expect. If you haven’t noticed, 2025 was quite an ironic year. As far as I am concerned, this year’s ironic situations were a blend of surprise and humor with a dash of disbelief.
Let’s begin with our US President Donald J. Trump. Don’t you find these ironic?
Isn’t it ironic that…
for a man whose favorite farm animal is cows, he is crippling the American Farm Industry.
For a man who boasts to be in “exceptional health”, he has a bruised hand, swollen ankles, trouble keeping his eyes open, and shows signs of mental decline.
For a man who is a “Master Negotiator”, Trump usually caves in at the end.
For a man who calls himself “The Affordability President”, Trump is slowly destroying our economy just like he destroyed the East Wing of the White House!
For a man who acts as if he has nothing to hide about Epstein, when reporters ask about his involvement with him, Trump changes the subject.
Last, for a man who won a “Peace Prize” (let’s be real, FIFA gave him that trophy to appease him!), Trump behaves as if he wants to start a war with Venezuela. Doesn’t that “Peace Prize” mean anything to him?
While the “Don” has had his fair share of ironies in 2025, here are other ironic moments that occurred.
Interestingly enough, it’s ironic that 2025’s “Word of the Year” is not even a word at all. “6-7”! The last time I checked, those are numbers not words!
As this ironic-filled year comes to a close, imagine what ironic happenstances are in store for the upcoming year. Whatever they may be, one thing is for certain – they will be just as shocking as they will be entertaining.
