Good evening, all. The conversation around last week’s murder of a health care industry CEO has brought into sharp focus the mass animosity against this country’s for profit health care system.
We hear horror story after horror story about people who passed away just because they either had no health insurance, or couldn’t afford the procedure. Given that anyone can become sick at anytime, there shouldn’t be a for profit health care system. The self-righteous attitude of “Well, if you do what you are supposed to do, you won’t get sick” doesn’t really work here.
One day you could be just fine, and two months later, your condition could deteriorate.
Just like there are no ethical billionaires, there’s no such thing as an ethical, profit based healthcare system. Health care is a human right. Period. End of story.
