Good afternoon, everyone. This year’s Brooklyn Book Festival transpired despite of the rainy weather this past Sunday.
Among the vendors I saw there were Verso Books, Poetry Society of America, the Center for Black Literature, and Rutgers University Press. Poets and Writers was also there, giving away some free copies of their magazine. Too Far Media was also present.
The Harlem Writers Guild authors present that day were Eartha Watts-Hicks, Judy Andrews, Kendall Glaspie, Chanel Murray, and myself.
The conversations that I had at this book festival this year were awesome. Events like this bring out the book lovers, and those who want to engage in ideas. During the day, I had conversations with attendees that ranged from the lesser-known works of Richard Wright to the lifestyle and poems of Edgar Allen Poe and William Butler Yeates.
I appreciate everyone who stopped by the table that day, and engaged us with thoughtful, and productive conversation.
