Harlem Week 2014 kicked off this past Sunday, and will have events lasting throughout the end of August. In addition to this, and the African American Day Parade coming in September, there is another institution that Harlem residents should be aware of.
On September 4th, the Harlem Drummers, Steppers and Flag Team will have a fundraiser for their organization. It is a non-profit organization that focuses on the performing arts for students from 6 to 21. In operation for 14 years, the Harlem Drummers utilize the performance arts as a way to guide the youth toward being productive and successful adults. The fundraising dinner will take place at 2383 Second Avenue, Taino Towers Community Center, 6 pm on September 4, 2014. Tickets are $100.00 VIP section, $50.00 regular, and $25.00 for fixed income.
