On Friday, the League of Young Voters will host a panel discussion at the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference. Gun violence is a serious concern, and it needs to be discussed. The panel: No Guns Allowed: Examining the Underlying Triggers Behind Gun Violence will address this problem and deal with solutions. The League of Young Voters is not anti-gun, but they do stand against gun violence. They have partnered with hip-hop icon Snoop Lion who has a song “No Guns Allowed” dealing with the matter.

This past weekend during BET Experience 2013, The League of Young Voters Education Fund (LYVEF) and Snoop Lion aka Snoop Dogg hosted No Guns Allowed: Disarming Violence in our Community, a panel addressing gun violence in America. Snoop Lion, rapper T.I., Congresswoman Maxine Waters and community thought leaders engaged an audience of over 1,000 eager listeners in a captivating dialogue on gun violence in youth culture. The panel was moderated by the LYVEF’s Executive Director, Dr. Rob “Biko” Baker and was inspired by Snoop Lion’s “No Guns Allowed” single from his Reincarnated album.
