A few of the readers of this site inquired about the fate of the space in Harlem formerly known as Rice High School. The well known all boys Catholic school in Harlem closed last July, and many wanted to know what would come of the building. We now have an answer. Looking into the matter further, Polite On Society has learned that the former high school will be a charter school. The name of it is the East Village Academy, and it is scheduled to open some time in 2013. At this point, there is no further information available.

Thank you for the information on Rice H.S. but can you tell me where you can now go to get your school transcript if you graduated from Rice. I live now in Hawaii and have been searching for some answers. Trying to get back into college but cannot unless I get my school transcript. Would appreciate it if you can offer any suggestions.
Good morning Irene. You can obtain your transcript by contacting Iona College. http://www.iona.edu/
