Good evening everyone. Today, something interesting happened to the Facebook page for Polite on Society. I received a notification that a story I posted was under “review” by Slopes. It was an article that appeared on Newsweek.com about the Ku Klux Klan taking an ad out in a Virginia newspaper. Mind you, this was just a share, not a piece I wrote myself.
What I saw was the equivalent of a sternly worded prompt about how spaces that share questionable news will suffer online consequences.
The censorship is real. People may not comment, but I know someone is paying attention to the content that comes through these channels I have.
